Lafayette Copp and Frank Huff, Sr. are next door neighbors.

Two of Frank's sons would go on to marry two of Lafayette's daughters.

Frank's oldest son, my great grandfather Mathias married Cora, and Frank Jr. married Crystal Blanche (known as Blanche). The Clearfield Progress newspaper reports September 6, 1913 that on September 5, 1913 Frank was distraught over his wife leaving him (his home in Caledonia) and he became drunk and took a train to Penfield, where she was staying with family friends. He went to the door and asked for her as the family was sitting down to dinner. When Blanche went to the door, he shot her. Frank was found by the police the next day at his parent's house in Caledonia. Blanche suffered three days in the DuBois Hospital before she died. The paper said she was a virtuous woman, because even as she lay dieing she would not say a bad word about her husband.

On December 18, 1913 Frank Huff, Sr. was convicted of first degree murder and sent to prison. After numerous petitions filed by his family members after his father died in 1924, stating that his mother was suffering a hardship by raising his children and had no income, he was released in 1926 after serving 13 years.

Frank Jr. made the papers again (Clearfield Progress) on November 15, 1934 when he walked to a neighbors house and asked that they take him with them to a nearby bar. When they refused, and left without him, he went into their garage and drank methanol, and died. Frank Huff Jr's obitiuary states: He ahd been employed at the CCC Camp in Coryland, PA, was survived by two brothers, Sie and Fred, two sisters, grace Smith and Lavara Morse, two daughters, mrs. Grace Smith and Mrs. Arthur Youngmark.
